About

Over the course of five consecutive days, you will develop new skills, meet other enthusiasts, and enjoy a friendly and stimulating atmosphere. Weather permitting, classes are held outdoors under the gazebo; otherwise, they are held in our bright workshop.

This intensive 25-hour training course is suitable for all levels of pottery experience. It will allow you to learn the basic techniques or perfect your skills by exploring more advanced methods.

You will discover and experiment with all the stages of creating a piece on the potter's wheel: throwing, trimming, finishing, and decorating with slip.

Offered in small groups (maximum 10 people), this course promotes learning at your own pace and personalized support.

At the end of the workshop, each participant will be able to fire their pieces and take them home. Firing and glazing will be carried out by the CAR team within three weeks of the end of the course.

The cost includes one bag of clay per participant, as well as the firing and glazing of your creations.

Professor Carole Mose

I have been making pottery since 1989. After university, I followed my passion and returned to school at the Bonsecours Ceramics Center, where I graduated in 1996. I

then opened a studio and worked as a full-time ceramist for many years, teaching classes many years, teaching classes and participating in 1001 Pots, the Salon des métiers d'art, and the One of a Kind Show in Toronto for almost 15 years. In addition to teaching wheel throwing in my studio, I taught classes at the Town of Mont-Royal studio for 5 years, until 2019.

I am the co-founder of Studio Alexandra, which I have been running with Veronika Horlik for 25 years. We are now located in the Chabanel neighborhood of Montreal, where we offer mentoring to part-time members who wish to refine their skills and learn how to mix glazes and fire their own pieces. With nearly 30 years of teaching experience, my specialty is taking students who already have experience to the next level in their throwing, helping them pull the clay from the bottom and make larger forms with greater volumes of clay.
